elm was definitely the closest! I at least actually enjoyed writing it. the rest just weren’t fun.

definitely gleam. I’ve also written code in haskell, f#, ocaml, elm, elixir, clojure, and scala but none of them had any staying power. between weird/complicated tooling, using too much jargon, or having syntax that I just couldn’t parse in my head all of them had some reason that scared me off.
