I have joined other MPs in writing to Suffolk County Council, urging them to postpone their decision to take over Suffolk Libraries.

We believe Suffolk County Council should hold a public consultation so people have a proper opportunity to raise their opinions and concerns.

Sometimes people don’t know what they need. That’s why at Suffolk Libraries we’re here to help. But even when you talk to someone, they can’t always express what they really need. Our new Discover More tech can signpost people to local help and support that will help to meet their individual needs.

On International Men’s Day our libraries offer a safe and non judgemental space for everyone. It’s never been more important to support men’s mental health particularly as suicide rates remain high.

I’ve been told that there is no funding for preventative health for at least 2 years. Apparently it’s too challenging to evidence. Research by Moore Kingston Smith says different with every £1 spent on libraries in Suffolk returning over £6 in social value🤷‍♂️
