Fossil CO2 emissions continue to rise in 2025 while the terrestrial carbon sink recovers to pre-El Niño strength.

Carbon offsets rarely work! This systematic review evaluated 1/5th of global carbon offsets (equivalent to a billion tonnes of CO2eq). They found “less than 16% of the carbon credits…constitute real emission reductions”.
