Can you imagine if we had instead invested those funds in climate, health care, and education instead of lining the pockets of the military industrial complex?

Yesterday, the House passed an NDAA bringing us closer to a $1 trillion Pentagon budget.
For too long, hawks have used the tragedy of 9/11 to supercharge militarism at the cost of our needs and safety.

I can’t stand this guy but violence is never the answer. It only leads to more of the same. We need to channel Dr. Martin Luther King and Ghandi to win this fight. Violence will turn the public against us and the right wing will use the violence to justify theirs.

This picture is exactly the problem with the Democratic Party IMO. You can’t be the party of the people with professional politicians who refuse to step aside for a new generation of leaders because they are to busy still accumulating wealth and power. They would rather lose than step aside

When justice becomes based on political affiliation it is no longer a tool that protects the populace rather it becomes a tool of terror and subjugation. If you’re ok with this think about it. One day it may be someone who violated your rights or wellbeing being set free to act again with impunity
