The new Ohio House budget would change the public library funding model, slash $100 million from libraries over the next two years, require relocating all trans/gender related books from eyesight of those under 18, and so much more.

This is *devastating*

Eliminating the Dept. of Education means no funding but also no oversight or consistent rules ensuring kids with disabilities (or gifted kids) get the services they need. Local schools would decide who gets support—if any—and disparities between rich & poor districts would be immediately evident.
Ohio's Lt. Gov. Jon Husted, goes all-in on axing the U.S. Dept. of Education. Closing it would rip away $18 billion per year from high-poverty schools, $15 billion from special education, $28 billion from Pell Grants to help high-performing kids in poverty go to college.

#UrbanPlanning is why you miss #college!

Today is #InternationalStudentsDay. And a major reason so many people look back on their college days with nostalgia is because it's the one time in their lives most of them will experience good #urbanism on a regular basis.

Ohioans Reject Redistricting Reform, Protecting GOP Gerrymanders
After legal battles over the wording of the ballot language, Issue 1 lost on Tuesday. It would have created an independent redistricting commission.

Hi everyone.

The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars.

We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.

I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.
The Onion Buys Alex Jones’s Infowars Out of Bankruptcy
The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.

the next mayoral race in columbus is 2027. putting this out there now: i will support whichever candidate can make mixed income public housing happen. we need permanently affordable solutions - the market can’t be the only mechanism to solve our housing crisis.

In US cities, ~2/3 of crash deaths occur on streets owned by the state – not local gov.

Outdated, deadly state roads are preventing cities from building the safe, comfortable, and transit-friendly streets that residents want.

If you give a shit about urban planning and transit you should expect no funding from the feds for the next 4 years and you should entirely focus your advocacy on state & local politicians.

You should also try to build community as best as you can to save people from rightwing media
