🌊 How do tomato plants cope when faced with both salt & waterlogging stress at the same time?

A combination of salt stress and waterlogging provides protection to tomato plants against the negative effects of waterlogging individually applied https://bit.ly/4ldoXoZ

Happy to share the new article from my former lab at IBMCP — the final chapter of my PhD!
We optimized geminivirus-based vectors for the controlled expression of recombinant proteins in plants, using autobioluminescence as a real-time reporter 💡🧬🌱

obsessed with this vague notice from the government of Nova Scotia. Like it’s definitely about the new fire restrictions, but it also looks like a poster you’d find yellowed and curled on the bulletin board of a diner in a town where locals won’t talk about their missing kids

💡 Even short-term mismatches in plant–pollinator timing can shape complex and fluctuating selection patterns, maintaining floral trait diversity and possibly slowing evolutionary change. (7/7)

Seen some fear mongering around GMOs online and one argument is the impact of farms with very low generic diversity on the environment.

Maybe I’m missing something but surely improving crop yields with GM reduces our land use so we can rewild areas that would otherwise be used for agriculture?

Introducing my new #rstats package {kitchensink}

Not sure what the right model to fit is? Should you allow random intercepts, slopes, both? What do Bayesian methods say?

Just call {kitchensink::throw} to fit every possible model and see how your results differ!
