One of the most useful exercises Manchester council did a few years ago was send out a questionnaire when they had to make cuts asking what you wanted them to prioritise. They listed all their costs. It was an impossible job. Perhaps the Reform council in Kent should have had a go

This was 3 months before I was due to move to Manchester for university. Lived here for several years with large swathes of the city centre just screened off
The IRA detonated a 3,300lb lorry bomb on Corporation Street, Manchester, at 11.20am #OTD 1996, the biggest bomb detonated in Britain since WW2. Four coded warnings meant that no one died, but 220 were injured and damage to the city's retail and commercial core was extensive.

I have taken the Avanti west coast service to and from London 4 times in the last month. Every train has been delayed. At least my delay repay pays for my Uber

Just landed back from holiday to my phone going mad with the horrible news from Liverpool. My family all went to celebrate the last game yesterday as today would be too crowded for my Mum. My thoughts are with anybody who was caught up in it. What a tragic thing to happen in our wonderful city.

They should make a database of everybody bleating about the betrayal of Brexit today and make them stand in the All passports queue in every airport for the rest of their life

Got an email that my Snapfish account would close due to inactivity (didn’t know I had one!) I did find this old photo though & realised two things I could no longer do. Get my leg this high or wear 3 inch heels for a night out in London

My Dad wanted to name me Sheherezade after the character in One thousand and one nights. My Mum said that people would just call me Shezza. I was then named Lyndsey, a name that they saw in an advert for a hairdresser in the Liverpool Echo
Shhhh nobody’s looking it’s Sunday afternoon. What was the baby name you wanted to use but it was just a little TOO much? Ours was Lysander like in Midsummer Nights Dream for a boy. It’s so beautiful!! But it was just too out there. (Mind you, I named my daughter Winifred, but still)

Labour is handing this country on a silver platter to Reform. People do not vote Labour because they hate immigrants and want Reform-lite. They vote Labour because they want it to make a positive difference to their lives.
