I draw my OCs, my ttrpg characters, and smut. I also write stories containing smut.
Not to say she won't feel guilty in those cases, but a refusal of an immoral/unlawful order isn't breaking an oath. Because the oath was already broken from the other side when the order was given.

I suppose you could say her ultimate promise is to her own morality.

For example, she takes an oath upon becoming a knight, but the queen also takes an oath at the same time. Kath is giving up a lot of control and in return the queen is promising to not abuse that.

So if two of her oaths come into conflict, it's going to be the fault of the other party.

It endangered her soldiers by being disruptive, and was disrespectful to her by blatantly bypassing her chain of command.

Kath is very mama bear with her subordinates.

Her anger manifests as a cold focus and terse, pointed language. Her normal eloquence becomes very blunt when she's mad.

Best example I can think of is a side story where she's in command of a garrison and another knight comes through, throwing their weight around, ordering her soldiers, and making them nervous. She's furious when she finds out, because her job is to deal with that shit so they don't have to.

There's a reason I decided that Lynna would be "mum" to them, while Kath is "mother"

Despite how she changes to become a successful ruling queen, Lynna is absolutely the softer touch.

She's really tough to have as a teacher. Pity the unfortunate guard recruits.

Kath does mellow out some by the time she has kids, at least.

A little.

Either way she doesn't see it as wasted effort. For her, preparing to do something is as important as doing the thing. Even if "doing the thing" doesn't happen, the "preparing for the thing" was still valuable.

Of course, her being this proactive does mean she gets frustrated by people who aren't.

Tolerate is the wrong word but I can't think of a better one.

Best would likely be a cat, for the combo of affection and independence. Happy to have it on her lap when reading or writing reports, but as soon as she needs to stand it's leaving.

Lynna's the one taking pictures and buying cat toys.

Lovingly watering someone else's plants and taking their dogs for a walk.

Meanwhile her own place is a single room with a table for weapon and armor maintenance, a desk for writing reports, a closet with three sets of the same dress uniform, and a small bookshelf.

Her priority is other people.

Yes, a longsword in a belted sheath is part of her official dress uniform. Along with a long-sleeved high-necked doublet in her colors (emerald green+midnight blue), black cloth gloves, fitted black trousers, and knee-high leather boots.

We see those two combine in the tournament. She blocks a blow in a way that breaks her arm so she can get close. It's to disarm them there, but in a real fight she'd have just killed them.

I think it'll be shocking to other characters the levels of violence she's able to output when pushed to it.

Her habit of putting the people she's protecting ahead of herself means two things.

If she thinks its necessary to take an injury in order to achieve a goal she will do so.

When a threat presents itself she will unhesitatingly end it quickly as possible before it can take her down or hurt anyone.
