Building a massive migrant detention facility at Guantanamo would be a disastrous mistake.

Here’s the map of Guantanamo. Could someone explain to me where 30,000 people plus staff plus facilities are going to go, when the current capacity is 400. Is the job of journalism to call bullshit on these ideas or to ignore them until they are actually implemented?

Am I missing something? Did the U.S. just dilute the right not to be unjustly detained? The Laken Riley Act appears to not only require detention but allows states to sue the federal govt for failure to detain an undocumented person who is arrested, regardless of whether or not they are convicted?
