All I can think is karma’s a real bitch sometimes
No one should have to face such threats.

It would’ve been nice if Greene had realized this before she amplified and endorsed calls for executing Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama.

I knew trying to pitch a PhD project to the entertainment industry for funding was going to be hard but damn… they don’t tell you it’s a struggle even finding who to pitch to and exactly how HARD it is to navigate figuring it out. Like c’mon Naughty Dog and HBO, I HAVE SOMETHING YOU MIGHT LIKE! 😭😭😭

Fun one today covering a lot of reception!
Today on AOH, Dr. Aisha Dad, a Research Affiliate at the Carolina Asia Center and Director of the Classics Gaming Collaborative, discusses her work in reception studies, particularly in how ancient stories are retold in modern contexts and the importance of rethinking what constitutes 'classics’.

UK universities cannot thrive while continually cutting academic staff

No amount of wellness webinars, Lego play workshops, communal climbing events, bounce back sessions, desk yoga, jigsaw puzzle nights or Vice Chancellor's Special Awards for Resilience can change this

The end of an extraordinary era. Thank you Nancy for your service! Not sure when we’ll see another master vote counter and tactician like her in congress. Truly she is the greatest speaker of all time. I hope she’ll enjoy a very well earned retirement.

Nancy Pelosi will retire after historic 20-term career in Congress
Her departure, along with the death of Sen. Dianne Feinstein in late 2023, marks the end of a historic chapter for female political leadership in California.

This is the Roman bathhouse at Bearsden in Glasgow, the only visible remains of the fort on the Antonine Wall that once stood there. Featuring hot and cold rooms as well as plunge pools and a latrine, it also had glazed windows and painted plaster decoration. #RomanFortThursday

I shared a very personal and heartfelt conversation with Troy Baker, the voice of Joel from The Last of Us games. It’s a very special ep for me and I’ll admit I’m a bit nervous for this to be out in the world now.

Wow time moves so quickly! 3 years ago today I had just flown to Rome for a week and spent my first evening there accepting a job at UCLA. Forever grateful for the opportunity and for all the people who made my time living there so special.
