I am also proud it includes my TIER Act to strengthen the Transition Assistance Program so veterans can succeed in civilian life.

And now, as a member of the Appropriations Committee, I will make sure these commitments turn into real funding for our region.

This leaves Americans paying more for energy while others seize the future.

Some pages have been tweaked to emphasize ‘natural forces’; others have been deleted entirely.

California would take the spill risk while the oil companies, many not even in California, would take the profit. Trump wants to bring drilling back. I am renewing legislation to BAN IT PERMANENTLY and keep our coastline safe.

But none of that matters if Johnson and his team keep flailing. Their lack of leadership and last-minute scramble now risks leaving millions of Americans high and dry when premiums spike next year.

Meanwhile, some Senate Republicans, and even a few House Republicans who broke with their leadership, have at least put ideas on the table that are worth a real bipartisan conversation.
December 9, 2025 at 11:02 PM
What they have done is push a false claim that the ACA is somehow riddled with fraud. Independent fact checkers have found little evidence. At best, House Republican leaders are twisting the data to sell the cuts tucked into their Big Ugly Bill.
December 9, 2025 at 11:02 PM
This is nothing more than an eleventh-hour attempt to pretend they have “concepts of a plan” after spending a decade without one. In that time they took more than 70 swings at dismantling the ACA and produced nothing that actually helps families.
December 9, 2025 at 11:02 PM
They still don’t have an agreement to save the ACA tax credits that expire at the end of the year. Not exactly inspiring leadership.

I’m encouraged to see that local officials on the San Diego Board of Supervisors are now paying attention to this issue and I welcome their support for my effort.

This bill will help families move into homes where they can raise their kids. I remember how good it felt to find the place where our family would be able to grow, and I want everyone in our community to have that opportunity.

When the Kremlin applauds America’s national security blueprint, it means we are heading in the wrong direction and betraying everything we’ve fought to secure since WWII.

My grandfather’s generation built a world where the United States led through alliances, collective security, and the defense of freedom. Trump’s strategy throws that legacy aside.
December 9, 2025 at 12:10 AM
And instead of standing firm against authoritarian aggression, it signals that Washington wants to “negotiate an end” to the war in Ukraine on terms Russia openly welcomes.
December 9, 2025 at 12:10 AM
Instead of strengthening NATO, Trump’s plan reassures the Kremlin by questioning the alliance’s future. Instead of defending democracy in Europe, it echoes rhetoric about “civilizational erasure” that Moscow has pushed for years.
December 9, 2025 at 12:10 AM
Now we have a U.S. strategy that revives that same mindset, and the Kremlin loves it. Russia publicly praised Trump’s strategy because it “corresponds” to Moscow’s own worldview. That should set off alarms for everyone.

Along with many California leaders and residents, I strongly oppose expanding offshore drilling that would irreparably harm our coastal communities and economy.
