Visited a very important building today in Norman, Oklahoma. One of the groups in this bldg is the Storm Prediction Center. Any tor/SVR watch we get comes from this office. They’re amazing humans. Incredible research comes from this place to make watches/warnings better.

If BlueSky wants to be a serious platform, I can't be getting these messages from Buffer. Will attempt to post natively here so there is no interruption, but if you stop hearing from us here, this is why

This whole campaign is disgraceful. This administration which is riddled with actual antisemites is using antisemitism as a stalking horse for its campaign against all universities. A kind of elaborate and hideous gaslighting.

10:51 am, a break in the storms is pushing up I-65. We'll have to watch closely to see if clouds thin out and how much the atmosphere re-energizes for later storms. Good chance to check your safe spot and make sure it's ready to go for later, if needed. We'll be right here watching each radar scan.

Few people know 230 as well as Mike
Democracy is burning, and we need sites like Bluesky more than ever. And Senator Durbin wants to repeal 230, which would massively stifle the ability of sites like Bluesky to exist, while massively empowering X and Meta.

Why?

It seems that someone in his office doesn't understand 230.
It’s time to repeal Section 230. We must be able to take social media companies to court for addicting kids and enabling drug trafficking on their platforms.

Anti-trans laws are meant to divide and conquer. They can drive people to a sense of powerlessness, but the entirety of political power doesn't exist only in DC. There are thousands of elected officials across the country with power, too. And they can push back against the federal government.

Carter used the power of his post presidency to nearly eradicate guinea worm. There were 3.5 million cases when the Carter Center’s work began in 1986. He said in 2015 that he wanted to see “guinea worm completely eradicated before I die.” There’ve been 7 cases this year. www.npr.org/sections/goa...
Jimmy Carter took on the awful Guinea worm when no one else would — and he triumphed
Carter targeted diseases primarily affecting the poor in remote areas — notably "Guinea worm disease." Because of his commitment, case numbers plummeted from 3.6 million a year to just 13 in 2022.
