Dear restaurants: for crying out loud, don't use AI descriptions. I have no idea whether anything is correct once you put a paper bag on the menu as "Bag: Deep-fried Thai-style golden bag typically filled with mashed vegetables".

The top painting is from @lycomorpha.bsky.social's Cloud-book #2 drawing exercises, and the watercolours are from them as well. The colour in mine is their Russian green (volkonskoite?).
Tin with watercolour paper swatches of six green colours: green earth, Russian green (volkonskoite?), French greenish slate, pale green luz, Verona green, antique green earth, and yellowish green earth. They range from dark pine blue green to yellow green.

So, I've just started working with watercolours. Never done it before, so getting the hang of it. Sharing it here to kind of normalize it being okay to just make art - it doesn't have to be "good". 🩵

Okay, fishing/beading types - I found this knot yesterday and it works perfectly for this necklace I just finished. Tight, looks good, never coming undone. But...
Knot diagram showing a way to attach line to a loop, step by step. Text: STEP 1 Double up the end of your line and put the loop end through the swivel. Allow plenty of line to make tying this knot easier. STEP 2 Wrap double line around main line 6 to 8 turns. STEP 3 Run the loop bock through the hole at the base of the knot next to the swivel. STEP 4 Now ploce the loop over the swivel and slowly draw up the slock line. STEP 5 Finally draw the tog ends of the knot up slowly and evenly. This knot can be trimmed very short without fear of slippage.

Think about how you want to begin. Choose where your energy is going when you can, and what will help you as well as those around you. We aren't all made to fight the same way.
Wild ginger, Asarum caudatum flower. The fleshy burgundy flower is being held up by a couple fingers. It has three hairy sepals which taper off into points, and the stem is covered with long white hairs. The dark green leaves behind it are edged with the same fluff. There's a star of dark petals and a circle of white pollen in the center.

There is a long history, so many moments leading to this one we're in now. This moment, though? Is also a beginning. A new turn on the path, a new branch we're taking.

It's so hard to not be discouraged, or angry, or to feel hopeless in the face of it all. That's normal, you're not letting anyone down by feeling that way. It's all part of it.
Bleeding heart, Dicentra formosa. Beautiful pink flowers shaped like a heart or an urn. Below the main flower is a purple chamber that opens up as it matures and shows darker spots as if it's bleeding. The flowers are backed by beautiful green feathery leaves.

Folks, I don't even know how to say it. If you're in Canada, you have got to start fighting. Call your MPs, call your MLAs, go to their offices, do not go silently into this.

You know it's bad when Toast Water is more exciting.

Toast the bread till golden brown and dry all through, or dry it in a moderately hot oven till golden brown and crisp. Pour the boiling water over it and add the salt; cover and set aside till cool. Strain, and serve hot or cold. Some add milk, cream and sugar, and serve hot in place of tea or coffee.

They've got 30 gram containers for $18 - I've been meaning to grab some from them for a while. I used about a teaspoon to do several smaller skins, I think. I'll find my notes! Pretty sure this was cochineal, iron and alum on the left, cochineal and alum on the right.
