A really stupid thing to do - but the females love them for it. Ah - the trials and tribulations of being male :-)

Interesting little titbit - Ptarmigans change plumage twice per year, this one is in winter plumage (and should really be on snow). In spring they go mottled-brown and become practically invisible against the vegetation - except of course the males, they show courage by remaining (partly) white.

Old though I am .... that was meaant to be 2014 :-)

I guess maybe I repeated myself - Bluesky SEEMED to ignore my first attempt. The site seems to be having problems every now and then.
