A rock ptarmigan. The size of the total population oscillates wildly but their number have been steadily dwindling so the hunting season (they are VERY good eating) has been shortened and commercial hunting banned. Nov. 18th, 2022

Stayed home yesterday to avoid the snowy mayhem - but had to rescue my daughter-in-law from work, their Tesla is not ideal in snow. My 4x4 has no problem - except I got rear-ended on the way home! Reykjavik on Oct. 29th, 2014
