This is the thing that drives me insane. Things aren't normal; this isn't politics as usual. And when you accurately describe everything this administration is doing, it's so lawless, radical, and authoritarian that *you* sound like a partisan extremist.
seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

Idea for a follow up video: Did Kat Abughazaleh commit copyright infringement by clipping our video without our permission?
Legal experts agree that the indictment against me and five others is politically-motivated. Thank you @legaleagle.tv @lizdye.bsky.social for bringing attention to this case.

AND ANOTHER THING. WHY WOULD YOU TEAR DOWN THE WHITE HOUSE BEFORE YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO REPLACE IT? It only takes a couple of days to do the demo! Even for cynical political reasons, having gash on one side and a crater on the other is going to look terrible.
This has been gnawing at me. Apart from the abject illegality, it takes *a long time* to build anything in DC let alone the (theoretically) most secure house of government in the world. AND THERE ARE NO APPROVED PLANS. There's no way this thing get's built in Trump's lifetime.
the ballroom will never be built and he’ll just pocket whatever money he collects because he is a grifter first and foremost

Trump raises the price of the ballroom to $350 million
(It changed from $200 million, then $300 million, now $350 million within the course of a few days)

@annabower.bsky.social can you text Lindsay and ask if she thinks her use of disappearing texts (and her use of Signal, generally) complies with data preservation rules under the Federal Records Act?
Oh nooooo, Lindsey Halligan, this is not how any of this works

Real "please dont put in the newspaper that i got mad" energy
EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.
I glanced down at the message.
“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.
So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

Uhhhh, given that the government is shut down and the yearly appropriations have expired, does anyone know where the funds for the Argentina bailout are coming from?

Perhaps not the most important point, but it wouldn't "beg the question," it would "raise the question."
Quick question: If the Republicans are right, and someone is paying millions and millions of us to protest, and has done it hundreds of other times, and they STILL can't figure out who's funding us, aren't they way too stupid to hold office?
Sean Duffy: "The No Kings protest, Maria, really frustrating. This is part of antifa, paid protesters. It begs the question who's funding it."

@legaleagle.tv Do these pop-ups that are appearing on federal websites like hud.gov violate the Hatch Act? Would love a video on this.

Yes.
This is a joke, right? A parody account?
We have an authoritarian prosecuting his political enemies, destroying the rule of law, subverting Congress, wrecking the economy, and, inter alia, deploying troops and masked secret police to majority-opposition party cities.

The Trump administration’s threat to deploy troops in Portland is unlawful.
Here’s a thought.
Focus on protecting the healthcare of the American people.

People are laughing about this, but the national security bathroom vanities is where we keep our National Strategic Petroleum Jelly Reserve.
The administration’s fight with Home Depot has escalated from the initial raids by the crack ICE agents in Sealant Team 6 to a full blown economic war.

I could be wrong about this, but I can't think of cause of action that the makers of Tylenol could use to file a lawsuit against the government and even if they could file, I can't think of a way in which the government has waived immunity.
@legaleagle.tv My fiance and I are debating something but we're not legal experts. Can you make a video explaining the legal ramifications for tRump claiming that Tylenol causes autism? Can Kenvue take legal action against the administration? Is there a precedent for this???

Fun fact: I ordered a $60 basket from Spain and then had to pay $48 dollars in tariffs C.O.D. (that's still a thing?!) directly to UPS before I could take possession.

This entire thread.
This formulation is popular: contrasting SCOTUS' intolerance of race as an admissions factor with SCOTUS' tolerance of race as a detention factor. There are, in fact, doctrinal, historical, and logical distinctions between the positions, that one could use to dismiss this comparison.
But...

"Harvard can't use race as a factor in admissions, but ICE can use race as a factor in detentions" is a retrenchment essentially to a pre-Civil War understanding of the Constitution. It's vanishingly few steps removed from "Latinos have no rights which the white man is bound to respect."

Can confirm. But they didn't even admit that we're entitled, they merely "would not oppose" ... part of it.
Wait, what?
You admit that I'm entitled to file a sur-reply because you introduced new evidence, but for only *some* of the new evidence?
Is this one of those "I object because it's really bad for my case" objections?
@legaleagle.tv can confirm this happened bc he got the email too.

Has anyone done the math on how much it's costing to deploy and reassign hundreds of National Guard and federal agents to DC? Got to be in the tens of millions already, right?
