I think you probably need lab-grown meat to achieve taste parity with regular meat while being cheaper, at which point the only reason to keep having regular meat is if you like animal cruelty or have a MAHA-style 'authenticity' fetish, both of which later generations will see as evil or weird

I spent a huge amount of time in 2023 mentally sketching out a Campaign Trail mod set in 2052 between a socially moderated multiracial populist GOP and the Democrats in a timeline where Biden and Democrats basically rolled a Nat 20 and the main culture war issues are veganism and transhumanism

The logical end of any kind of political veganism is the prohibition of non-cultured meat consumption, but obviously you can't say this publicly. So you have to impose economic pressure and accelerate cultural shifts. Strongly regulate factory farms to raise prices while subsidising artificial meat

I've actually tried to game out how to accomplish vegan political objectives without generating too much backlash; I think one way to do it is to repeal agricultural gag laws and then ride the backlash to impose strong animal welfare laws that have the effect of dramatically increasing meat prices
