Yeah my only point was that Christian Democracy would absolutely be called socialism by Americans, but that was the *conservative* position in Europe and much of Latin America.

Also, Christian Democracy was like THE premier movement among conservative Catholic Europeans in the 20th century and by EWTN standards it might as well be Bolshevism.
