Here is the collective effort of 12 labs, lead by my own at the Broad to target the range of cortical interneuron subtypes! These tools should be a game changer for all of you using NHP and other less genetically amenable species! Have at it!

We did this. Beautiful work from the 🦋less Gabriel Ocana-Santero & team. More to follow soon but state-dependent neuromodulation is coming to developmental neuroscience in a big way 🧠🧪

Our paper is out just in time for #EM_Monday! It is about a specialized neuron-specific ER, called the spine apparatus, which is found close to synapses and has a very peculiar shape. If you think neurons are special, the spine apparatus is their🦄 horn! But how does it form?!

New job alert!
My lab (saleemlab.com) has a new postdoc / senior postdoc opening. They will be part of an exciting research supported by ERC & UKRI, studying vision during navigation. Projects range from purely computational to performing new physiological recordings.

ok- sci bsky - trying this out. our latest paper with @arimolofskylab.bsky.social shows that "allergic" immune cells (ILC2s) have a healthy function in developing brain: formation of inhibitory synapses - key tuners of brain activity www.science.org/stoken/autho...
Group 2 innate lymphoid cells promote inhibitory synapse development and social behavior
The innate immune system shapes brain development and is implicated in neurodevelopmental diseases. It is critical to define the relevant immune cells and signals and their impact on brain circuits. I...
