This is very clearly the direction in which things are headed, especially since so many of the people who built and maintained the tools the US IC has developed-in house have been fired or have left.

For the record I’m still alive, I was lucky enough to land a new job after the post launch layoff but the new job has been very intense. I did manage to make this tree study that I’m happy with though so there’s that.

Should anyone want a kiddo friendly* manga to offer up as an alternative to Harry Potter I highly recommend Witch Hat Atelier, the art and page layouts are beautiful, the approach to magic is inventive, and at least in the first two volumes the pacing is top notch.

I think the most basic question people need to ask themselves about any law is ‘Would I want someone who hates me to have this power’ even when it benefits them in the present moment.
Louder, for the people in the back who think mask bans are a good idea.
Once surveillance infrastructure is in place, it is subject to changing priorities and prejudices. Hungary threatening to use face recognition to find people at pride events shows why we need to ban government use altogether.
