If anyone knows anyone in admin/management at Austin Public library can I have their emails? I am trying to let them know about the free library worker support network and offer support for their staff. Thanks! #AustinPublicLibrary

If you’re cheering for SNAP cuts because you think it’ll save you money… it won’t.

SNAP gives more to the economy than it takes.

When people are starving, things fall apart.

You’re inflicting suffering on others to make the rich richer and you can’t even see it.

The regime fired everyone involved in the funding and administration of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

They’re letting measles and other infectious and disabling diseases run rampant, and then removing disability support.

It’s eugenics and they aren’t even hiding it.

Learned about @libro.fm at ALA annual— it’s an audiobook app where you pick your fav indie bookstore and the audiobooks you buy support them. Putting my money in better places is at least somewhat in my control, and I need that when so much else is out my control.

Stop thinking in binary when it comes to your response(s) to early signals of workplace harm. You can give the offender grace AND document their behavior. The grace may leave -- and your record will remain.

$14 million dollars allocated to the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) was pushed through to the America 250 team to fund "Freedom Trucks"–propaganda telling a whitewashed version of history.

What's happening at IMLS is beyond budgetary concerns.

I am so lucky for my supervisor at Cincy when my dad died, she and my colleagues were nothing but kind, supportive, and understanding - they were true blessings. I am glad that JJ Pionke wrote about this, though, because I know my case is not the standard.
JJ Pionke has a new article on supporting library workers through anticipatory grief-related loss. I appreciate the policy considerations - in particular, the nod to chosen family/estrangement & grief/loss that is often disenfranchised (i.e., pet loss). What would you add? tinyurl.com/5fj2dcrv

I have a distinct feeling there are going to be far, far fewer intellectual freedom/book ban related library conference sessions and programs in 2026.

I've a real fear of the fatigue around the topic and the fear of continuing to hit the drum as these orgs are under attack. Being "safe" is easier.
