Our conversation over the last couple of days suggests a complete moral breakdown, at a national scale. Instead of sympathising with far-right protests, politicians should be fucking challenging them.

Every time I turn on the Today programme on Radio 4 - you can count on me tuning in to a “conversation on immigration”. This conversation always ends in the presenters asking a politician if we “should have a conversation about immigration”.

This literally newspeak is mind-fumbling frustrating.

London.
So,as a little thought-experiment, tell me something about the United Kingdom that works well and is actually quite impressive. I am not trying to sound like some boosterish politician. I just genuinely believe that making people believe that all is lost is a convenient pretext for shady characters.

Haven’t listened to the Today programme for a while and lucky for me, they invited Nigel Farage on and I had to turn it off.

One under appreciated point in the discussion on welfare is that we live in a very different economy to that of 50 years ago.

Our economy is dominated by service/knowledge industries - sectors it’s particularly hard to work in if you’re neurodiverse or have a chronic mental health condition. 🧵

And this is why the poor are always at such a disadvantage. You have to have money to make money and trying to get out of that cycle of just making ends meet is very, very difficult indeed.

And why, most of presumed, the Labour Party would help.

It seems we were wrong.

Visiting Tallinn for the weekend and it’s my first time in a Baltic country and… my first time on a walking tour! I learned more about the Soviet Union in 2 hours than I did in my entire schooling. Also, Estonians, not big on Russians.

for the love of fashion, please stop “styling” cardigans as anything other than a cardigan.

This is sort of fascinating because if you were to turn on pretty much any talk radio station or pick up any tabloid, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was the inverse.

A lot has happened since I stopped tweeting - namely I seem to have less time to tweet, so getting into the practise of remembering to skeet is hard. 😪

This is cheating because I am ordinarily allowed to add films that I have seen at the cinema but 1) I would have watched this at the cinema if it was on at my local for more than like two days, I real...

Went to the supermarket to buy lunch for tomorrow. Headed straight to the salad aisle. Lost the boyfriend. Found him looking at Krispy Kremes. Our relationship summarised, me looking at lettuce, him looking at doughnuts.

Off to #NYC next weekend. Been multiple times but looking for recommendations on genuinely great things to do that I might not have done before:

I like:
📕 Books (contemporary literary fiction)
💿 Vinyl (less me, more my partner)
🌱 Vegan food (very important)
🖼️ Art (contemporary & photography)

Imagine sitting down for a drink or a meal with people whose company you enjoyed & being told by management that half of the table would be now occupied by people who just wanted to shout ‘C**t’ at you. The exodus has absolutely nothing to do with ‘opinions’. Media reports must reflect this more.

Ok this is a fantastic list for UK peeps. As much as US politics is BIG NEWS right now - this is probably more practical for newly arrived politics-interested Brits.
To all the newly-arrived Twitter refugees, I've created a starter pack of UK political journalists, experts, commentators and politicos to follow here

What is THE BEST Jimmy Eat World song? Having seen them play their biggest show ever last night, it seems only appropriate we settle this right now.
