My daughter was in 3rd grade when I told her about Oxford High because it happened in our state and kids were going to talk about it. She cried and I lied and told her it was a rare thing. Six months later, I had to tell her about Uvalde. She didn’t cry or ask questions that time.

Watching Indecision 2008 election night coverage on Comedy Central, hearing Jon Stewart say CNN was calling the election for Barack Obama, and seeing Stephen Colbert break character for a second to wipe his eyes is a core a memory for me. That told me all I ever need to know about who he is.

‘Ganders - McMorrow has done an amazing job as my district’s state senator. She’s the real deal, in my mind. How can we present her to Northern and West Michigan and get folks the info they need to make a decision to support her?

Sharing for Michigan friends, tip of the mitt in particular. Hope you are hanging in there. I just had an argument last week on the Petoskey News Review site with someone who thought it’s okay to eliminate the National Weather Service because he has “common sense and a barometer.”

There’s no legal requirement in the US to carry ID at all times. Sometimes, if I’m not driving, I may leave the house without my license. What is to prevent a masked group of “agents” from detaining me? I would have said the Constitution but clearly not so much these days.

Here’s an activity - take a statement from one of these Christian Nationalist politicians (like Josh Schriver) and replace the word faith with hate. If the statement makes sense, they are a Nazi. Example: “my ____ makes me want to overturn gay marriage” vs “my _____ makes me love my neighbor.”
