Too long have I had to live
among the enemies of peace.
I am on the side of peace,
but when I speak of it,
they are for war.

This is why I'm knocking doors to get @shahanafrombk.bsky.social reelected. At a time when Elon Musk is specifically promising to fund "moderate" Democratic primary challengers against successful progressives, a newcomer who suddenly has money from the GOP's donors is not what my district needs.

Good King Wenceslas showed, by example, the importance of going into the freezing winter to take care of the poor and hungry. In this homily for the Feast of Stephen, I ask you to tell @mayorsoffice.nyc.gov to continue funding for homelessness outreach services for January onwards:

The Arrow Linen project received lots of comment. Some opponents testified saying, rents are too high and this should be a 100% affordable building, with no market rate units.

What that position means—whether they intend this meaning or not—is "This lot should sit empty, like 431 Concord."

An applicant wants to build 87 apartments in the Bronx, 24 permanently rent capped ("affordable"). Why not more? "431 Concord across the street, proposed at 100% affordability, was approved in 2021 and has not been built."

Insisting on 100% affordable housing gets you 100% of zero.
