While I'm rambling about, homes I guess, Only God Was Above Us, the Most Prescient Album of 2024, has a line on Gen X Cops that goes "a house is not a home, and a home is nowhere we can stay". I think about that line every time I'm getting mad about the commodatification of housing.

I'm rambling now but when I was a kid my mom would say, "we don't really own the house, the bank does" and I remember thinking "man that sucks" but not until I was a grown-up did I have the words to understand that it's also wrong, both legally and philosophically.
