Spent quite a while this afternoon hulling black walnuts. Got about 10 gallons processed. Another 10 to go in this batch. Of course the trees are still laden with more. #homesteading #smallfarmlife

After the disaster with the incubator, went over to Rural King and bought some chicks. Turns out the local one was overstocked and had them on sale for $2 each. They appear to be a week or so old thus my hatched one is quite a bit smaller. #SmallFarmLife

Bought a dozen eggs, never refrigerated and fertilized. Incubated (though the auto turner kept turning until day 20). 2 hatched, 1 has since died. 3were stick bombs(one exploded in my face). 2 were not fertilized. 1 died super young. 1 died mid. 3 died nearly hatched. #SmallFarmLife

Stupid tariffs. Expecting 100+% tariff with china and needing a new phone much sooner than US manufacturing could be set up, we bought one this morning. Before the price doubled. Within hours, he’s like.. well, doesn’t apply to phones.
