I wrote about how blaming Ukraine or Israel aid for the failed response to the Los Angeles wildfires isn’t just fundamentally false. It’s dangerous, because offloading the blame for domestic governance failures onto foreign scapegoats prevents us from addressing the real causes of those failures.

I don't know who needs to know this, but Pro Publica has an online thing that will format a letter to your US health insurance company to demand the records behind a claim denial. (which the insurance is then legally required to provide in most cases)

When I was served ads for New Zealand’s racist movement during our election I would shout “fuck off! I just want to buy a dildo!” - took them two weeks but now I’m amazed at the colours and variety of sex toys instead.
