The fact that Trump will pay absolutely NO price for inciting the Capitol insurrection makes me sick to my stomach.

The last time you elected Trump, God sent a plague.
God bless and protect our President Trump.

As stupid as this sounds, part of the reason I think the fascism argument didn’t land, is because most Americans don’t realize that the federal government is like an iceberg. Many don’t understand how much the government impacts are daily lives because it’s operating “below the surface.”
Harris made the fascism case against Trump, citing Milley and Mattis and with help from Liz Cheney, and if anything it hurt her in the polls. It just doesn’t land as a real concern to many voters. (To be clear, it’s a real concern to me!)
Of course I’m glad Gaetz went down, & my fingers are crossed that Hegseth will follow—nobody as Christian nationalist as him has ever been this close to power. But I’m troubled that the only way to stop them is via their alleged sex crimes. Fascism is apparently not a problem.

Good morning on this grey NYC day.

I hate that the NYT posted this as debunking misinformation. A rule, law or constitutional amendment is not self executing; there must be an enforcement mechanism which, ordinarily, is the legal system. As a lawyer, it pains me to admit, I’m not terribly confident relying on the Supreme Court.
President-elect Donald Trump has mused more than once that he might like to run for re-election again in 2028 and seek a third term. The Constitution's 22nd Amendment does not allow it. Here’s why. nyti.ms/48YsMZO

It’s as if the MAGA delusion knows no bounds. Also, I can’t wait to see them accept responsibility for MAGAs failures. Oh, yeah.

It took a humiliating military defeat, crushing sanctions, and a historic economic collapse to turn Germany fascist. All it took in the United States was the election of one Black president.
