Is "I prefer returning error codes to raising exceptions, and I'm going to block this PR until you conform to my preferences" a hard-won instinct?
bsky.app/profile/euge...
Unfortunately the space of LLM code errors and the space of human errors are not the same, making hard-won code review instincts misfire

me, walking down a busy street: Mmmmm, oh yeah. Look at the rear end on that one. *licks lips*
wife: Excuse me?!?
me: Uh….. it’s not what it sounds like!
wife: It sounds like you’re ogling another one of those older, compact pickup trucks.
me: I….
wife: ……
me: *hangs head* It was a ‘98 Ford Ranger.

Shout out to the front yard DJ we see out every Halloween, playing on theme but still good music every year.

I find something endearing about tricking families into dancing to KMFDM.

One of the great things about Cursor is it's lowered the bar for me starting half baked projects that are never going to get anywhere.

I was not prepared for the volume of email newsletters and texts I’d be getting when enrolling a 5yo in kindergarten.

Trying to send a message to my doctor via MyChart, and it blocked my use of emojis. I'm now concerned about the state of my care.

Looking forward to seeing how a hosted container runtime will help teams from the sideline.

I’ve had a Google Search Alert for my name for years, and all it’s shown me is what other people with my name have been up to.

Eg: there was a small town police chief in NY with my name who was fired after a city gov scandal. Pretty sure he was just a scapegoat. The mayor did him dirty.

Confession: I’ve never played Settlers of Catan.

Which feels like saying I haven’t watched Star Wars, but maybe I’m overblowing it.

That thing where you’re wearing a band t-shirt and someone on the street stops you to say they love that band too?

Always makes my day.

The worst thing that ever happened to code review was adding any notion of "approval".

It's taken the whole idea from "innate desire for feedback, even if you disagree with it" to "what do I have to do to appease this person so I can get my work done".
