Something I think about a lot with neurodivergence is how often the “norm” our brains are “diverging” from is not any sort of human norm, but just a modern norm invented by capitalists. Maybe demanding we all sleep on Henry Ford’s schedule and do endless paperwork to live is the divergent path here.
The reason it seems like so many people you know are being diagnosed with ADHD isn’t because it’s trendy or over diagnosed—it’s because neurodivergent people find each other and form communities.
