Awesome. threads just disabled my account. For zero reason.
Any outage any disruption of social media platforms on any Election Day should be considered election tampering. IMHO.

New @motherjones.com: Is the FDA about to keep pregnant women from taking antidepressants?

Yesterday they quietly convened a panel whose participants suggested that women just feel emotions more deeply than men & that SSRIs cause autism (false).

Meanwhile, mothers' mental health is plummeting.

This is Sausage. His humans got him his very own swimming pool and he's obsessed with it. We asked them if he swims every day and they said, ”Every single day. He follows us around the house until we take him outside AND sit and watch him. If we’re not there he won’t swim." 14/10 good for him

Someone asked why melted cheese tastes so much better...I love these Qs, it's food science we take for granted!
Melting breaks down fats and proteins to release umami + aroma/flavour compounds. The gooey texture spreads to the tastebuds better + the Maillard reaction creates that toasty flavour.

I love paying TurboTax a few hundred bucks every year to figure out how much money I owe the government, which the government already knows, but won't tell me because TurboTax pays legislators to keep the government from telling me. 😻

As one example of the fallout from RFK Jr’s cuts to federal health agencies, a planned FDA exercise with a network of veterinary testing labs around the country to ensure they’re able to detect bird flu virus in milk has been suspended, due to elimination of the agency's food safety lab in Illinois.

But perhaps the biggest difference is that egg farms in Canada are much smaller, so when one farm does suffer a flu outbreak, the effects are less far-reaching. The typical egg farm in Canada has about 25,000 laying hens, whereas many farms in the U.S. have well over a million

We’re close to losing Sesame Street, a show that was started to provide free educational media to marginalized kids in our country.

That’s not an accident in my opinion and it’s just one more example of how Capitalism robs our society of the sweet and good things we build to care for one another.
HBO has declined to renew “Sesame Street” for new episodes. The series that’s been teaching generations of little kids since 1969 now has no studio.

Please consider donating to Sesame Workshop to ensure the residents of 123 Sesame Street are still around to teach kids of all needs and backgrounds.
