This is nonsense. If a policy can’t be thoughtfully explained it very likely can’t be thoughtfully implemented. Just b/c something is complex does not mean it is incapable of being thoughtfully explained. Jay’s answer was flippant. Just b/c you’re satisfied w/it doesn’t mean others have to be.

The Protestant work ethic nonsense compounded by the selfish idea that life is a zero sum game where any gain by someone else means a loss for you as well as the cut off your nose to spite your face racism about POC getting any benefit means most people’s self-interest is far from enlightened

I think that answers about how a policy will work should be more concrete and specific than “depends.” If you (general) can’t articulate the practicalities of the policy when someone asks how it would work when implemented, it’s probably not a well thought out policy.

You don’t ever “have” to presume anything. You can listen to what a person is saying & based on what they’re saying gauge if your input is (1) responsive, or (2) helpful.

Presuming things instead of actually listening to what others are saying is how a lot of needless miscommunication happens.
