Elsevier has a 38% profit margin, and the other journal publishers aren't far behind.
"academic publishing is dominated by profit-oriented, multinational companies for whom scientific knowledge is a commodity to be sold back to the academic community who created it... The dominant four collectively generated... $12 billion in profits between 2019 and 2024."

I am not being hyperbolic when I say that how Harvard and the economics profession respond to Larry Summers will determine who makes up the next generation of economists.

By the end of this century, the extra discomfort from hotter temperatures could cost Americans billions of dollars per year, say researchers at UT Austin, Montana State, and the FHFA. Their findings come from an unexpected place: America’s favorite pastime. #econsky www.aeaweb.org/research/cha...

Wow, this is wild. 174 acre transfer, but in the law, 32 acres are for wetlands and 42 acres are to be parks, leaving about 100 acres left. 20 acres for a stadium leaves 80 for parking, housing, etc, which ain't much. Seems like we either get a stadium or housing but not both.
It won't be easy to build a modern NFL stadium at RFK:

— Developable site is 100 acres
— NFL requires a minimum of 35K parking spaces for a Super Bowl–eligible venue
— That's 100–350 acres of surface lots or 50 acres of garages
