These aren’t the narrow plate euro courtyard buildings we’ve been imagining - but in areas previously zoned for apartments perhaps this can compete… we’ll see

Look how few cars there are driving on this road
We should definitely draw broad conclusions about how much people like cars from this one photo of a partially completed road network.

Also @sfu.ca please fix your wifi login. Making people receive a text in a room with no cell signal is convoluted and frustrating.
@visionzerovancouver.ca missed out on many donations tonight (I’m sure) because of the poor connectivity

The goal was to have the rainway run from Kingsway through to a constructed wetland on the great northern way campus (but unfortunately the campus opted for a symbolic pattern on the pavers and a couple rain gardens instead).
Hopefully we can see phase 2 built up to Kingsway.

At the south end of the micro-shed is Kingsway - a diagonal ridge line. Heading north you pass parks and schools and terminate at the flats.

There is now a storm sewer main that captures water within its urban micro-watershed (a few blocks east and west) and you can hear the water flowing underneath the manhole in the street.
This sound was what made me curious about the hidden connection in our n’hoods.

A few blocks east was this little unnamed nub of a creek that ran beneath what is today St. George Street. It used to flow to the tidal wetlands that are now the false creek flats.
