Grateful for the chance to speak with students in the Clinical Research Summer Observation Program today at #CWRU! Their curiosity and energy were a reminder of why mentoring future researchers matters. The next generation is already asking the right questions. 🧪#ClinicalResearch #STEMEducation

Sad to see about NIH-related layoffs impacting colleagues at the CDC and FDA. These agencies are critical to public health, science, and innovation — we deserve better. Via @nytimes.com 🧪 #publichealth #CDC #medsky

First-generation students have unique needs, which can be amplified when they enter graduate programmes. A Comment article in Nature Reviews Psychology argues that faculty members need to be aware of the needs of this population and how to support them. https://go.nature.com/3FkQDs1 #Academicsky 🧪

Earlier today I was walking and listening to the Sound of Ideas on #IdeastreamPublicMedia. It was a great segment on the H5N1 virus. I rushed home to take notes! The epidemiologist in me can’t resist. 🧪 @doctoramye.bsky.social and @jennifernuzzo.bsky.social - thank you for sharing your knowledge! 🧠

The YRBSS provides crucial youth health data and is often used as a training data set for future public health scientists in data analysis, coding, and interpretation. Losing public datasets erases health issues, limits research, and hinders future scientific development. 🧪
The CDC has removed data on sexual orientation, gender identity, and health disparities from their website.

Pages removed include:
- Youth Risk Behavioral Surveillance System
- Social Vulnerability Index
- Efforts to Address Racism as a Fundamental Driver of Health Disparities
