Really weird watching a coup in real time from my desk at work, putting in my usual hours. In the movies, everyone is at home or on the streets protesting. Makes it feel surreal.

Fact is, he severely damaged any lvl of comradery many Cdns had. We obvsly already knew Phrumpy was untrustworthy, but pulling the shit he just did was next lvl. (Can you imagine if roles were reversed?) And we know he’ll try to pull more shit in 30 days. Consequences suck & we don’t forget.
Fun fact: even when/if tariffs are lifted… many Canadians will continue to boycott American goods (when we can/or when we feel like it) out of spite for the next four years. 🇨🇦

Well, I remain highly motivated to boycott American goods. The US is clearly an unstable and unreliable economic partner (among other things), and I’d like to see us bolster alternative relationships. Also I have zero faith the threat will subside in 30 days.

So Canada called him and said "sure we promise to pledge X amount of money to that" when they already budgeted for that exact amount last year and every single one of Trump's advisors either didn't know or they shut the fuck up about it if they did because they knew how bad these tariffs would be.
