I happen to think it's all pretty terrible.
Maine in four days! Toronto in two weeks! I'm going to hike and nap and maybe get attacked by a yeti of some sort, then be really loud and annoying on Church Street.

My WOW hot take is that warlocks should have a tank spec. Also that by removing that one ability that's HP -> MP they lost a lot of flavour.

Oh, the hogs are doing well? They're going to say they're going wild. Gotta be the easiest team to produce for.

If you are watching the Hogs on national broadcast, you will be shown some pigs from somewhere. They may be real, or a local piece of graffiti, or ham, but you'll be shown a pig.

CEO: We paid you millions, kid. Tell me what you found.

Tech bro: Thank you, sir. Our cutting-edge, revolutionary Sauron system uses AI, facial recognition, and the most finely-tuned algorithms.

CEO: And?

Tech bro: Sauron has concluded that your customers might enjoy "a cold treat on a hot day."
McDonald's is testing facial recognition and AI at drive-thrus.

The AI is reportedly being used for tailored promotions.

It analyzes prior purchases and even weather trends, so you could see a deal on the app for a cold treat on a hot day.

Aside from the obvious direct harm, what's so irritating is that a handful of spoiled ignorant assholes are breaking things that we all built together. They weren't content to own almost everything, they had to wreck what little they didn't own. It's vandalism on a mass scale and has to be punished

In hindsight, my coping strategy of “don’t think about it until January” was absolutely genius until it became January.

Update! From last time. Which was a year ago. I have a job! I like it. I live in Pittsburgh. Everything is fine! Except for all the ways it isn't. The end!

What I'm _not_ digging about the job search is being constantly sent applications for EF.

Like, nothing against EF or teaching abroad in general, but boy it's a toughy to switch out of the teaching industry.
