Has anyone watched the movie Don't Turn Out the Lights? I've been driving myself mad for two days trying to figure out what was going on. I keep thinking if I piece all the clues together there will be some super clear-cut answer, like "The RV is a metaphor for smartphones."

That's it, isn't it

Got a really nice comment on the channel I make subtitles for, but I have to admit, I had to look up that adjective to understand it, lmao

Speak of the devil. Can't believe the only movie ever made with a Gremlins 3 reference arrived the same day they announced Gremlins 3. Also I bought Pulse for a third time.

Last night I watched the 2016 Blair Witch sequel, and oof. It is downright irresponsible the degree to which the movie is just this happening over and over.

I know Soul Steal is already OP in Symphony of the Night, but it would've been cool if it generated an absolute buttload of souls when you did it on Granfaloon. Or some other unique effect.

It is unfathomable to me that people beat this game in the '80s with no internet and no save states. Frankenstein, Death, and Dracula alone each took 50~100 attempts. If I had to redo the entire stage every three of those, I would simply not like video games.

Is this the worst moment in gaming? Wtf

Been playing through Simon's Quest this week, and although it's arguably very bad, I kind of love it. The music, the mystery, the epic screen shake when you drive an oak stake into an orb. Also, Dracula's looming figure looks like the Count Magus Lee reveal in Vampire Hunter D. 😗👌

I just hope when space aliens unearth the ruins of this once great land, they find some lingering evidence of our greatest technological achievement, the Crispick.

My four favorite PS2 games I'll probably never play on a PS2 again.

FWIW, it's just dumb luck that I happen to have this and read it earlier this year, so it's still fresh in my mind. It's the only non-Japanese book I've ever read in Japanese.

Unless we're looking at different Harada posts, it looks like his translation does what I said: it translates そういうものだ as "That’s just how it is" and then treats "So it goes" as a separate line. It's not that it irks me, it's just a bit of context that seems to have gotten lost in translation.

By all means, keep saying "AI slop," but I'd appreciate if everyone stopped saying "weird AI slop" and setting me up for disappointment.

Replaying Tenchu 2, maybe for the first time in 25 years. I remember it feeling like a pretty big leap forward from the first one, though not quite as snappy. It hasn't aged TOO badly, but its flaws really show in areas where being spotted ends the mission, which often happens inexplicably.
