Connecticut is representing w/the largest YIMBYTown audience ever 👏

“I’ve spoken here many times and you can usually judge the enthusiasm at a conference by the number of people in this room. This morning it’s packed!” - @mayorelicker.bsky.social

This is so, so incredibly disappointing. Connecticut deserves better.
Gov. Lamont says he will *veto* HB 5002, the broad housing bill proponents say would boost affordable housing in the state.

He says he hopes to see an amended version in a special session this fall.

“Veto to me means we can do a lot better.”

Woke up to beautiful fresh snow and the news that the toddler has a snow day. Solidarity to all the other working moms who also had to scramble to find alternative childcare today. 🫠 ❄️❄️

The smoke from the Great Barrington fire is so thick in my small Connecticut town this morning that at least one person called it in as a local fire. This drought is seriously scary. Indicator of Falls to come?

Wow. Almost nothing in Litchfield County.
There are only 3,073 homes for sale in Connecticut with a list price at or under $600k (affordable to family making +/-$175k…)

In a state of 3.6M, this is crisis level housing supply. We need more homes
