That sounds along the lines of what I mean.
I should probably clarify that part of why I'm asking is because that's the approach I intend to take with my main fantasy project, and I want to know whether there's a precedent for that kind of thing.

Oh yes, absolutely love supernatural elements in horror ... but also when they get subverted (well) and the supernatural is revealed as a trick.

There is an artistry to a well done jumpscare. I think we overcorrected from pointless jumpscares to no jumpscares 😔😂
