#OTD in 1944, troops of the Greek Sacred Brigade disembarked from a landing craft of HMCS Prince David on Syros, Greece.

The Germans had abandoned the island weeks before and there was no resistance. The Prince David quickly unloaded the supplies so it could depart to prepare for its next mission.

The divine Clayton Museum at Chesters Roman fort on Hadrian’s Wall. Created by John Clayton who collected Roman objects and bought up much of the Wall in the 19th century & saved it from destruction. It’s a great traditional museum.
