Runner up Patron of the Day is the one who thought we had faxing because the Google robot summary told her we had faxing (we do not have faxing at our library) and was absolutely floored when I told her that the robot lies.

Also the book in question (The Ballad of Jacquotte Delahaye) is very clearly about queer Caribbean pirates, so either the patron didn't read the summary or somehow the author's identity was the dealbreaker. It was very confusing.

In a significantly weirder case, "Sleeping Lady with Black Vase" is a 1928 oil painting by Róbert Berény. It was lost in WWII, and considered looted by the Nazis and likely destroyed afterwards in the chaos... until someone recognized it as set dressing in the movie "Stuart Little."
