2025 goals:
- write more
- knit more
- listen to more music
- more exercise
- more socializing
- more sleep
- less angst
In the time it takes to prompt AI to write in a “human” way, editing and tweaking, you could have had a writer write it.

The big snowpocalypse reports are coming in for my region. Ughhhhhh. I hate this so much.

If MSNOW was serious about trying to reach a bigger audience, they would take a cue from Faux News and make more of their content free. Free streamers for entertainment like Tubi, Pluto, and Roku prove that model can work. Why are we forcing people into a cable TV ecosystem? It’s old fashioned.

Today: 9 am reformer Pilates class, then doing a restaurant gathering for Thanksgiving. Tomorrow, I'm going to a restorative yoga class first thing, then making some sort of as-yet-undetermined vegan dessert to bring to Thanksgiving Part Deux.

I haven't talked about my writing much lately, except that I have a monograph coming out next month. I'm also working on a novel series. Book 1 is done, needs one last edit pass; book 2 is done and needs a first edit pass; book 3 just passed 50,000 words yesterday! Whee! Still a ways to go. #writing

Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown engines on
Check ignition and may God’s love be with you
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one

Found that towel I thought I lost yesterday, and had an outstanding barre class this morning! ☀️☀️☀️

Today: went to a blissful cardio sculpt class first thing in the morning. WFH the rest of the day. I somehow managed to lose the towel I was going to take to class between packing up my mat bag and getting to the studio, though, and that has me confused and bummed out. :( :( :(

TIL Ro Khanna and Mo Rocca are two different people.

Calling a reporter by a derogatory, sexist, sizist, and dehumanizing word is the behavior of a meanspirited child. This latest incident in "norms and etiquette no longer matter" has stuck in my craw. The sheer devolution in how adults are expected to behave--especially ones in power--is astonishing.

Turned out the answer was no but MacGruber was a fun surprise!
I wonder if Glenn Powell’s SNL promo alluding to Christopher Walken means we’ll see him take on one of Walken’s iconic SNL characters in some form.

I have been laboring under the incorrect assumption for much of my day that the semester is going into week 14/15 and that Thanksgiving break is far more imminent than it is. Alas, it is week 13/15, and thus I have several more days of toiling before Big Turkey Time™️. Woe!

Today: grading all morning, taking a break for Pilates right now, then grading all afternoon. At least it’s gorgeous and sunny! ☀️😎

Ah, it's only 2:30, and the smaller of my two cats, who always goes absolutely insane around 3:30-4 pm, is at his shenanigans early! What a joy, what a sweet prince. He is a delight, I say through clenched teeth as I peel him away from knocking my computer into my coffee.

This morning was my 100th time going to my favorite yoga studio! 🎉🧘‍♀️

I’m convinced the tech bros invented LLMs because someone gave one of them a bad grade on their paper analyzing the Saw
movies and they’re still bitter.

Very proud of myself for doing Pilates at home at lunch! It was a great little workout, and I feel amazing.

No TRX for me due to snow. It's been a minute since I did a workout at home, and I got out of that habit because the peer pressure of studio workouts seems to be good for my ability to work a little harder. I shall just have to be my own coach today!

Today: WFH due to snow. If the snow is better this afternoon, I have a TRX class. I truly, truly HATE snow. LOATHE it. Always have. Winter generally is my least favorite season, and I don’t appreciate it sneaking into the middle of fall.
November 10, 2025 at 12:25 PM
People who love snow have bosses who don’t make life hard for them if they can’t get to work. It is absolute classism to love snow.

Just got back from a yoga workshop and feel very relaxed and uninterested in getting up and on with my day. 🧘‍♀️☮️🕯️

The academic job search for F26 is feeling a little futile, friends. Strongly considering a combo of adjuncting and freelancing. I did a fair bit of freelancing during the summer of 2020 before finding some really fantastic online teaching opportunities during the first full academic year... 1/
