My 2025 comes to a close with the official release of my study of fictional female presidency. I started this when Trump got elected the first time and finished it with Harris’s 2024 loss, but I focus a lot on 20th century fiction.
This show is sooooo good.
This show has an A+ soundtrack.

Feeling great about the progress me and my co-author are making on a new article!

Haven't left the house since Saturday morning, and it's starting to wear on me. I really need this snow to melt, my streets to be clear, and normalcy to return.

A week from today, my spring semester finally begins. I love that my university has a long winter break, but it honestly felt almost TOO long. Remind me I said that when I’m counting down to spring break, btw. 🤓

This is not someone aiming for anyone. She is directing her vehicle in the opposite direction. Not moving at any speed, because her wife is still getting into the passenger seat.
That was my takeaway too. She's clearly turning the wheel to her right.

I've slowed the video down here.

Today was Pilates, lesson planning for spring term, errands, and ending it with pizza from a local spot. In between, trying not to scream at the vile and horrific things in this world. 😔

I’m going to try to jog 100 miles by May 30, all in 3-mile increments. I’m making a promise to myself to let go of discomfort and fear and actually jog outside before spring, ideally twice a week, but this specific plan leaves room for some weeks where it’s not possible at all. 🏃‍♀️👟🐢

CBS used to be my go-to if I was
going to watch live national TV news. Absolutely never again. This is revolting.
Bari Weiss’s CBS News directly attacking academics, subject matter experts, in the promo for her new CBS Evening News.

Interholiday void week, and the weather marginally improved. I went to a trampoline class this morning, then have a sculpt session this afternoon. In between, housework and lesson planning.
December 30, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Continuing interholiday void week, today we get Wild Weather edition, full of black ice and wind and temp swings from the mid-60s yesterday to low 20s today. Love this global warming BS. /s

Today: cardio at home, sculpt at my favorite yoga studio, then just chillaxing. Maybe dinner out. Interholiday void week continues!
December 28, 2025 at 2:02 PM
Time for the interholiday void week! Had a decent set of family gatherings the past three days. Today, Pilates is the only thing on the schedule, although I’d like to begin to slowly clean my house, with the goal of finishing before the end of my break. Might shop or movie today; we’ll see!

Relatedly, I asked an LLM who I was recently, and it said I advise history students and have a “background in medicine,” neither of which is true.
This is hilarious. And AI is sooooo much dumber than we think.
It's time to talk to you about my cat.

OMG why does this look so gooood?! I literally cried.

Today was Pilates, a leisurely lunch at one of my fav local spots, and then I went to
an outdoor mall IN THE RAIN to Christmas shop. That last task deserved a medal. Doing some light spring course prep after felt like a TREAT.
December 18, 2025 at 10:44 PM
Christmas shopping begins in earnest today, after an early morning sculpt class.
December 17, 2025 at 11:56 AM
Got grades finalized last night. Today: trampoline, sculpt, 1 quick Zoom meeting, holiday shopping lists, maybe a little spring term prep.

Every single post I see on other social media about Rob Reiner has a comment section just filled with "I didn't agree with him politically, but this is still sad" comments or even comments that echoed what that particular guy posted today. Can we PLEASE be respectful about tragedy?! Good grief!!!

66 things left to grade at 9:45 am. Let's see how this goes!

The snow is SO BAD. The club offered credit toward a future show and then their POWER WENT OUT! Glad we didn’t venture down!
Outstanding barre class this morning. Now grading and housework. Watching the snow. We were supposed to go to a comedy show this evening about an hour away, and the club is apparently not cancelling for any reason nor offering refunds. :/ We'll see what happens! 🙃
