my hate on Oppenheimer isn't mainly because he created atomic bombs but mainly on the probability that he influnced the relationship between male physicists and their silly hats like i already lost count on how many male physicists in my uni that have their own special little silly hats

They can detect changes in light levels. This is important as it lets them track the seasons - many species only breed in spring.
