It’s Giving Tuesday. (It’s giving … Tuesday.) I really encourage you to donate to an abortion fund, which make the promise of equality real by allowing women to control their bodies and lives, pursue their dreams, and live with dignity. Find your local fund here: abortionfunds.org
Homepage - National Network of Abortion Funds
Our network of nearly 100 abortion funds builds power for abortion access. Find a fund, get support, donate, and join campaigns with NNAF.

It sucks that meeting a new class now involves not just going over the syllabus, setting expectations, and trying to establish a rapport, but also trying to deduce whether any of your new students are vigilante right wing operatives out to seek viral controversy at the expense of your job

one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

I feel like we’ve memory-holed that until the last 15 years or so, mainstream culture was largely fine with the idea of sexualizing teen girls (remember tabloid countdowns of the Olsen twins turning 18?) so I guess I’m not too shocked that some people want to go back to the era where perving is ok.
Holy shit. They're really doing it. They're doing "actually pedophilia is good now." The debasement of the American Right is complete.

Lindsey, Charlotte, and a number of other unimaginably brave women deserve enormous credit for kicking Andrew Cuomo out of New York politics for good.

Lots of inaccuracies floating around re: the new generic mifepristone. It's not the first generic, it's the second, and it's not a "new abortion pill." It's the same thing that's already on the market, there are just a total of three companies making the drug now (brand name and two generics).

Really loved this, from Kathleen Hurlock in the Cleveland Review of Books, critiquing the abandonment of feminism by the left in the post-Lean In-era and calling for a renewal of a genuinely radical—in her word, "freakish"—politics of women's liberation. clereviewofbooks.com/freak-femini...
Freak Feminism: On Andrea Dworkin - Cleveland Review of Books
It was genuinely nice for a while to not feel like a freak. But a decade on, I see myriad consequences of the perception that being a feminist is normative and mainstream.
