Never forget, car dependency isn’t freedom.

Some might ask “what’s more free than cars?”

Choices.

Choices are more free than car dependency.

It’s not a hard concept.

I’m not pitting cars against any other single mode of transport.

I’m rejecting design that creates dependency on just one mode.

A lovely story about Dr Jane Goodall's career & legacy, from Rachel Fieldhouse & Mohana Basu, in @nature.com www.nature.com/articles/d41.... Includes some comments from me about how researchers _can also_ be advocates and science communicators, and still be taken seriously (I hope)!

Vale, Jane.

Did someone bury a tiny lemon? Nope, this is an earthworm cocoon!

After mating, both earthworms will produce small cocoons like this, each containing a fertilised egg. Inside, a baby earthworm will grow, before hatching out the end like a tiny pink noodle!

I wish I had posted this addition before this little thread went viral but PLEASE read Careless People. The info is importanr, the prose is actually good, and she’s a kick ass narrator.

Also BSky may not require algorithm use but bad actors can still use it to manipulate.

Meanwhile, federal employees and folks like me must decline a gift more than $20 in value.

Actual example in ethics training: if I give a talk at a school or museum and they want to gift me a coffee cup and t-shirt—I must decline one.

So glad our leaders are held to the same ethical standards 🙃
Breaking News: President Trump plans to accept a luxury Boeing 747 from Qatar that he will use as Air Force One and will keep using after he leaves office. The plan — involving possibly the biggest foreign gift ever received by the U.S. government — raises substantial ethical issues.
