I know Athrun's line in FREEDOM is meant to be ironic, but this is why it felt so weak to me.
This then brings him into contact with Meer which is a reminder of how dull and fake that life was. HE DIDNT KNOW LACUS AT ALL. All he seemingly did was bring home empty gifts for her. It’s so so so good and having Meer take on Lacus’s original birthed destiny is amazing.

The worst thing is that Lacus fans try to argue that scene is showing off her strength or her bond with Kira.

It's something I've been thinking for a while, FREEDOM doesn't even try to give depth to characters other than Kira and Lacus
Freedom meanwhile has only 2 characters, and Kira and Lacus are essentially new characters because absolutely everything that defined them is now completely reversed, stripping the impact away.

種も凄くすきだったんだけど無印は楽しめた。運命はずっと消化不良で苦しんでてこないだ映画のフリーダムで主にシンのキャラ像がやっと理解できて、だから運命自体の不満部分も解消されてそれに関してはやっと成仏できて良かったんだけど、見てる時勢いで押し流されてたラクスの描写が全体的に自分が最も苦手な方向の表現でそれがなんかずっとじわじわ蔓延してる…終わったからもうよしとしょうとするとよけいくるー…
