I wasn't trying to tell you to like the couple by the way, hopefully my replies didn't come off that way.
What I wanted to say was that it's weird to reduce a romantic relationship to on screen kisses when there's examples of other couples in the same show that have no chemistry despite kissing.

The thing about not asking each other out is weird to me because Fukuda has various interviews where he claims they are already in a relationship by the start of DESTINY, while FREEDOM starts with every character knowing they are in fact in a relationship and the two living together on their own.

Could you explain more of this? Because I'd agree if we were talking exclusively about FREEDOM (but I wouldn't say it'd make sense considering their personalities and experiences), but I don't get this at all from DESTINY.

I mean, they are 18 and they are sharing the house with a Reverend, a bunch of orphans and Kira's mother, it's not that weird for them to sleep in different rooms and for the children to seek comfort from Lacus while sleeping. It's also shown they don't have a problem with physical contact.
