Call to action for veterans. Jolly good Ginger. So far 5000 have signed up, it's not a one-time action.

Here's the thing. If we somehow have elections in 2026, and if Democrats take back the House, they'll treat it like a victory. If they win the WH, Senate, and House in 2028, they'll pat themselves on the back for "saving America."

But that's not going to do jack shit in the long-term.

Last month I did a little experiment.

I wanted to see how the exact same post would perform on both X (Twitter) and Bluesky.

The results were...interesting...

Mass firings, shutting down critical services, blowing up our alliances, crashing the markets, encouraging inflation...

These aren't the actions of a political party aspiring to get reelected.

These are the actions of an authoritarian regime that does not intend to honor elections ever again.

Getting ready to head out to my local protest this afternoon, because fuck this guy.

At the pre-interview screening for my current job, 18ish months ago, I was asked to suggest one improvement for the website. It was an easy question: the navigation menu was a MESS.

Took a while, but today I finally got to launch the updated site and it's a whole-ass load off my work brain, y'all.

F it, here's the email addresses of senior Meta execs. If they want to greenlight pogroms against us, they should at least hear from us.

Lindsay Elin, VP Public policy lindsaye@meta.com

Roy Austin, VP Civil Rights royaustin@meta.com

Cynthia Deitle, General Counsel cmdeitle@meta.com
NEW: I've obtained internal Meta docs revealing an array of sample posts that are now allowed under new hate speech rules. Examples include calling children "trannies," “Jews are flat out greedier than Christians," and “immigrants are grubby, filthy pieces of shit”

Leaked Meta Rules: Users Are Free to Post “Mexican Immigrants Are Trash!” or “Trans People Are Immoral”
Facebook now allows attacks on immigrants and trans people, and posts like “Mexican immigrants are trash!” and “I’m a proud racist.”

I suppose it's a good thing that I can still be shocked and horrified at this kind of brazen displays of entitlement. That's the lens I'm choosing these days.
“Will pay any amount.”

Feels like one of those futile pleas we’re going to hear from wealthy people more and more in the era of climate change.

My only regret about deleting my FB account in 2009 is that I ever signed up at all.

I can’t get over how cartoonishly evil this is

putting in your fucking “hate speech” policy that a particular kind of hate speech against a particular group of people is explicitly allowed - and therefore encouraged - is the kind of shit that should be done from a volcano lair with a shark moat
Meta literally created a LGBTQ exception for calling someone mentally ill as an insult. You can't do it for any other group except LGBTQ people.

One of my kitties has to go in for dental surgery tomorrow. She doesn't take any medication normally, so when I had to give her a pre-op pill tonight it was.... not fun.

So, I bought my house six months ago and I still haven't figured out how to set up the spare room. Right now it's just random storage, but I want a space that can serve as a guest room but also be something I actually use.

Hey, remember how I signed up for this thing, like, two years ago?

Yeah, me neither.

Finally got around to seeing Avatar 2. My review: too much plot and not enough story.

Visually stunning. Technically impressive. But I was hoping for something a little more.

I've been a very casual, infrequent Reddit user for a long time. Most of the chaos happening over there is going way over my head, but it's intense. That AMA with the CEO yesterday was a total shitshow.

It's been more than a year since I quit Twitter, about 15 years since I quit FB, and I've never used IG or Snap. It's surprisingly awkward to try and get back into posting stuff on a social site. I feel old and desperately detached from the zeitgeist.
